One of my favorite Batfam dynamics in fics is the Jason-Tim interaction that plays out along these lines-
Jason: “Brother! New brother! Bad brother! Why Brother?????!!!!”
Tim: “no! Not a brother, oh great magical one, I am merely a smol orphan.”
Jason: “if not brother, why brother shaped? Obviously brother-shaped child needs a brother.”

I love and love and love the idea of Hobie being over the moon for Miles BUT
What if all his gestures really were just to protect him, thinking he can fix all this mess, and in the process it's actually Miles who falls first, and has to rizz up Hobie, which isn't that hard but Miles being Miles overthinks it and in the end proceeds to do it indirectly or smth like Hobie just overhears something or figures it out or Gwen accidentally tells him, or maybe Hobie just overhears Miles sing a song and falls too and like immediately asks him out, Idunno I was just thinking about this and I honestly don't know which version I like better
